Female entrepreneur, reality star, and bad-ass babe Khloé Kardashian recently released her 0-24 size denim line GoodAmerican. While this isn’t a full 0-32 size range line, we’re excited to see a more inclusive range from a mainstream designer.
“I think the selling point for me was having a really wide range of sizes and not trying to segregate people into shopping the plus-size. I really want to break down those barriers and have a denim line for real women,” Kardashian recently told E! News. “When I used to shop for premium denim at high-end boutiques, they would go up to a size eight or ten. I was I’d say a size 12 at the time and I would get so embarrassed going with my sisters.”
While this sentiment comes from a good place, it’s just really hard not to do a hard cringe at any quote referring to “real-women”. Yikes.
How do the jeans stack up?
If you’re wanting a definitive GoodAmerican break-down then I suggest this awesome livestream from the great ladies over at the Revelist.
TL;DR Jessica Torres‘ main takeaway: “she needs to fix the sizing and adapt the distressed and cut-up denim for rounder tummies. We don’t want mom jeans, but we also don’t want a huge hole right next to our cha-cha and our belly roll.”
For the money it might be a pass.
But on a positive note
Even though the jeans themselves may not be the curvy fashion winners we had hoped, it’s still amazing to see larger bodies being represented on this scale.
Looking forward to seeing how Khloé ups her game with the next round for this brand.
